GCEN Premieres their 1st ever Christian Resources Expo & Conference on Saturday, March 17th in collaboration with local businesses and ministries.
“Some called it innovative; others groundbreaking but we call it the beginning shares GCEN President Gbenga Omotayo. The pioneering Global Christian Events Network’s “Exhibition and Conference” which was designed to Connect, Edify and Celebrate the body of Christ premiered on March 17th, 2012 at the Brooklyn College Student Center, located in Brooklyn NY. The event was coordinated and decorated by Statuesque Events, an event planning and decorating company based in the metro NY area.
The event, which streamed live to audiences across the world by LifeZone TV and started with a packed exhibit hall at noon. The exhibit hall was packed with diverse exhibitors and attendees showcasing unique products and services relevant to churches, ministries and Christians. A seminar presented by Janice Robertson on how ministries can “Extend their Reach without Compromising their Message” ran concurrently with the expo. The activities were also accompanied by live entertainment courtesy of DJ Dr D of WHCR 90.3 FM Radio, the expo host Namoo Skee as well asFemi Korede who spiced up the expo hall with edifying jokes and music while guests networked with each other.
Many exhibitors offered great giveaways to attendees and other exhibitors. Light of the World Newspapers offered free full page advertisement to all attendees, and Life Zone TV offered each attendee free TV advertisement as well as an opportunity to present their own show for 5 minutes during the event. The Ministry Marketplace: a resource handbook for pastors, entrepreneurs and Christians to source for and advertise kingdom businesses and brands was also unveiled during this event by Global Christian Event Network. A panel discussion on Social Media & Marketing for Ministries followed the expo, and ended with raffle drawings. Janice Robertson Johnson won the raffle for two Arik Airline tickets to Africa and Kayode Akojenu won a brand new HP laptop courtesy of BDPA NY.
The GCEN Christian Ministry Awards (CMA 2012) commenced afterwards with thrills and expectations after months of voting for nominees from eight different categories. Hosted by the duo, Saideh Browne & Bill Muhammed CMA celebrated, honored and rewarded individuals, leaders and ministries within the Christian Community who are using their services and abilities to impact lives positively for the glory of God. In addition to eight category winners, six honorees were also presented with beautifully created GCEN globe awards in the beautifully decorated and lit reception space. The attendees were also blessed by comedy by Femi Korede, song by CMA nominee Gbenga Wise and a trailer for an upcoming Christian feature film. The night was anything from boring.
